Article 1 (Purpose and Scope)
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set forth the conditions for using the household budgeting application "eKAKEI" (the "App") provided by (Please set the operator name) (the "Operator"). By using the App, users are deemed to have agreed to all provisions of these Terms.
Article 2 (Definitions)
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
- User means any individual who installs and uses the App.
- Service means all services provided through the App, including income and expense tracking, receipt OCR, budget management, reporting, and AI-powered forecasting and recommendation features.
- User Data means income and expense information, images, profile information, settings, and other data registered by users within the Service.
Article 3 (Accounts and Account Management)
- Users may authenticate using external services such as Google accounts when using the App.
- Users are responsible for managing their own accounts and authentication credentials and must not allow third parties to use them.
- The Operator shall not be liable for any damages arising from unauthorized use of a user's account by a third party.
Article 4 (Special Provisions Regarding AI Features)
- The Service includes AI-powered features using technologies such as Google AI (Gemini), including receipt OCR analysis, automatic category classification, and automatic generation of budgets and records.
- Due to the nature of AI technology, AI-generated outputs may contain inaccuracies, errors, or incomplete information. Users must review and, if necessary, correct all AI-generated results before confirming or relying on them.
- The Operator shall not be liable for any damages arising from errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated outputs.
Article 5 (Prohibited Activities)
Users must not engage in any of the following activities when using the Service:
- Violating laws, regulations, or public order and morals.
- Infringing intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of the Operator, other users, or third parties.
- Interfering with the operation of the Service, including excessive server load, unauthorized access, or reverse engineering.
- Registering false data or otherwise impairing the accuracy of records or statistics.
- Any other activity deemed inappropriate by the Operator.
Article 6 (Suspension, Modification, or Termination of the Service)
- The Operator may suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service without prior notice to users in the following circumstances:
- System maintenance, inspection, or updates.
- Events beyond reasonable control, including fire, power outages, natural disasters, or similar force majeure events.
- Service interruptions or failures involving external providers such as Firebase or Google AI.
- The Operator may modify the contents of the Service or terminate the Service at its discretion.
Article 7 (Intellectual Property Rights)
- All intellectual property rights related to the Service, including software, designs, logos, text, and other content, belong to the Operator or the respective rights holders.
- Users may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or otherwise use the contents of the Service without prior authorization from the Operator.
Article 8 (Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability)
- The Operator makes no warranty that the Service will meet any specific purpose, expectations, functionality, accuracy, reliability, or usefulness desired by users.
- The Operator shall not be liable for any damages arising from loss of User Data, device failures, or inability to use the Service.
- Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Operator, the Operator's liability shall be limited to direct and actual damages ordinarily incurred by the user.
Article 9 (Amendments to the Terms)
The Operator may revise these Terms at any time when deemed necessary. Revised Terms become effective upon publication within the App. Continued use of the Service after such publication constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Article 10 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
- Any disputes arising in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over the Operator's principal place of business.
